What comes to mind when you think of the most dangerous organisms on earth? Tigers, bears, sharks? Believe it or not, Mosquitos have caused more damage then all of those. The diseases mosquitos carry and transmit effects hundreds of millions of humans every year. Mosquitos spread the West Nile virus, yellow fever, the Zika virus and one of the worst of all, Malaria. Mosquitos are responsible for more human deaths, then all the wars fought in history combined.
200 Million people are infected by Malaria every year, millions of those people do not survive the disease. While in the United States it’s not as common for us to be effected by these diseases, it’s still a possibility. So it’s important that you keep yourself safe, and prevent getting bitten my mosquitos. Mosquitos lay hundreds of eggs at a time, and they have a life span of about 100 days. Thankfully there are steps that can be taken to limit contact with Mosquitos. While repellents may be suitable for temporary protection, if you find yourself constantly being bothered by mosquitos in your area, you will want to look into having your property professionally treated.
