Fleas like all other pest are a nuisance, perhaps even worse is that they mainly effect our furry best friends, dogs and cats. But how will you know if your pets are being effected by fleas? Luckily investigating a flea problem isn’t too difficult, if you know what signs to look out for. If you see that your animal is consistency gnawing or scratching at their coat, that may be a good indication that they could be hosting fleas. When you see this happen, use a pet comb to comb through their coats to check for small black specks, if you see these black specks it may be fleas or flea feces.
If you do find fleas on your pets you will want to talk to your veterinarian about treatments to can apply to your pet to kill the fleas. Fleas may also end up in carpets and bedding, so if you find fleas on your pets it’s a good idea to wash your bedding and vacuum your carpets. Once you notice fleas you will want to tackle the problem as soon as possible. Fleas reproduce very quickly, and when there’s a substantial amount of fleas in your home, they will begin to attach to humans. Flea bites can be very uncomfortable to humans, and fleas could even hold diseases that can be transited to humans. Once of the worst pandemics in human history, the bubonic plague, was primarily transmitted by fleas.
